Two Pilots Perish in Trainer Jet Crash in India

(MENAFN) Two Indian Air Force (IAF) pilots lost their lives on Wednesday after a trainer jet went down during a routine exercise in Rajasthan’s Churu district, according to the IAF.

The aircraft, a Jaguar trainer, was on a standard training sortie when it crashed in the western Indian state.

“An IAF Jaguar trainer aircraft met with an accident during a routine training mission and crashed near Churu in Rajasthan today. Both pilots sustained fatal injuries in the accident. No damage to any civil property has been reported,” the IAF announced on social media.

The IAF further stated that a court of inquiry has been launched to determine what led to the fatal incident.
